The name 2nd Position is inspired from Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and origins from a technique called perceptual positions. There are several positions at play and the foundational ones are the 1st & 2nd position.
1st position is our own point of view and our own perspective. You know when someone is taking the 1st position as everything is about that person, product, service etc.
2nd position is where we assume the perceptual position of another person or step into their shoes. When someone is taking a 2nd position it is suddenly a different experience as the focus is on you, your business, challenges and goals.
In other words, to be able to make any change, development or add value to anyone you need to understand the person from their perspective. I find this true and my way of approaching training and development hence the naming of my business.
The foundation of my approach is to understand you.
Specific communication, clear intent and mutual respect build trust that forms strong relationships, which is a must for successful change & development initiatives that last. I have been working in the arena of training and development in some capacity since 2003 to help people expand their comfort zone and grow their competencies.
I navigate with easy throughout all the development phases, understanding you, and or your organisation, mapping out and prioritizing the developing activities to bridge the competency gaps, develop training, coaching and implementing structure and deliver on the same.
The foundation of my delivery is based on 20 years worth of training & development experience, deep NLP Practitioner insights combined with the latest science and research on learning methods and methodologies.
